I made this apron for my friend.
I followed the instruction of a dress apron which was introduced in the magazine called "Kurashi-no-techou(a note book about living)" in order to make a bib part.
"Kurashi-no-techou" is one of the longest runner magazines which has been published since 1948.
This magazine makes suggestions about ideas of a life style, fashion, healthy food and education etc. It was published for those women who were suffered from descouraged life of just after WW2.
Sometimes it provides the ways to improve a woman's living ability and to develop a clear sense to choose various things in her life well.
pattern: Self drafted + hint from "Kurashi-no-techou No.93" magazine.
fabric: apron part→Merchant and Mills landried linen.
bib part→summer suiting wool
We can enjoy 3 ways to wear with 3 straps of the apron.
↓Tie a strap around the neck.
The bib will be in lower position.
↓Tie straps to make a cross on a back.
From back, it feel like a idyllic, rustic and something nostalgic.
↓fold the bib to make a skirt apron.
Skirt's gather ratio is w+w×1.5.
↓This is an example of the values that are considered beautiful to make gather skirt, for each different types of fabric materials.
